Snowy May 20?

WE went to sleep last night to the soothing sound of drizzling rain pinging on our roof. This morning, the pinging stopped. Out the window were gigantic May 20 snowflakes. They’ve been at it for a couple of hours now.

Our plants are scared, “nooooooo, not the snow.”

Last night we ate our second goose. It was super tasty. We soaked it in brine overnight, which supposedly gets the blood out of the meat. Then we marinated it in a tasty barbecue sauce. It was the best goose ever. We’ve been living off goose all week, and loving it. Goose stew, roast goose (courtesy of the culinary expertise of Judge Curda), and barbecue sauce goose. Thanks again, Robin!

We have a new addition to our family, but Genevieve will be writing about that.

We've got a big day of eating cinnamon rolls and hanging out at the fire station ahead of us. We also found this blog, which is full of good stuff about Alaska. We found it in an attempt to find the Alaska Barbie joke, which is probably only funny to Alaskans because its based on stereotypes about Alaska towns, most of which nobody outside of Alaska has ever heard of.
