Jonathan Qualben
Special thanks to Jonathan Qualben for taking the above picture while we were hanging out at Bernice's. He's a talented local artist who works in sculpture. Below is a picture of his latest work, currently on display in the Carter Center in Atlanta. We actually chose the name Paxson because the root means peace. It's a worthy aspiration internally, externally and internationally. We chose Revel because it means to make the most of joy, a passionate pursuit of delight and serious merrymaking, and also because the word revel comes from the Latin, and subsequently French word for rebel. We like to think of Paxson Revel who delights in the pursuit of peace and harmony. Of course, he'll be his own person regardless of what we his parents think, and mostly he just poops and sleeps and coos, and looks cute, but it's nice to shoot for the stars anyway. At any rate, I think the artist's sculpture and statement are in perfect harmony with Paxson Revel.
"A joyful expression can provide the healing and strength we need for in our struggle for peace within ourselves and for our world." Artist Jonathan Qualben's Statement describing the motivation behind "Affirmation".
