Blizzard in the Lap of Luxury

We are currently house-sitting again, at a luxurious new locale.  We have fantastic views of the Kuskokwim River, and as I write, I see a wicked blizzard to the South, West, and East.  (Lots of windows.)  It reminds me of watching storms hit the Oregon coast.  Very relaxing.

Statement as of 4:27 PM AST on December 27, 2006 ... Blizzard Warning in effect until 6 am AST Thursday... The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Blizzard Warning... which is in effect until 6 am AST Thursday. A front will make its way northward over Kuskokwim Delta tonight. Expect northeast winds gusting up to 50 mph combined with snow and blowing snow to reduce visibilities to one quarter mile or less at times. Winds and snow are expected to decrease as the front dissipates Thursday morning. A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to white-out conditions... making travel extremely dangerous. All travel and outdoor activity is strongly discouraged.

The walk home from work was interesting. 

Raven, the french poodlish creature we are caring for, is a half-assed dog.  Literally.  She wears a diaper indoors because since she has only half an ass, she is slightly incontinent.  She was run over as a pup, but miraculously survived.  So far, she is a mellow and friendly old hound.   I'm sure we'll get some photos up  in the near future.
