Super-Yurt
As it turns out, we have been researching our living options in Unalaska, and we have some exciting opportunities. There are a few lots for sale on Haystack Hill. If you look at the picture below, it's the hill sort of in the middle left of the frame.

Or maybe this: Now, if you'r going to build a house with a view like these, you'r going to want one that has nice windows. And what better kind of house than a round house to make the most of it? But it has to be a house that can withstand hurricane force winds on a regular basis. Well, this company, Deltec, has a proven record of houses that have been hit dead center by hurricanes and lived on unscathed.

At any rate, the homes are surprisingly affordable. (Especially compared to the average home cost in Unalaska - which is $400,000). And just add one of these windmills to defray the exhorbitant cost of utilities, and you're living the dream!

Well, I almost blogged about crime, because as a normal human I need some kind of outlet to vent, but that ends up depressing not only me but at least one or two other innocent readers, so instead I wrote a letter to the Governor. I'm sure it will make it to the top of her agenda.
